From Volume 2, Issue 3 (Jul–Sep 2026) onward, the Indian Journal of Allied Health Science (IJAHS) has adopted a revised article format and layout. Authors are requested to prepare and submit manuscripts according to the latest IJAHS article format and the instructions provided on this page.
The Indian Journal of Allied Health Science (IJAHS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to the publication of scholarly work in allied health and medical sciences. The journal welcomes original research, reviews, case reports, short communications, and other relevant scholarly contributions that add value to healthcare education, clinical practice, research, and innovation.
IJAHS accepts original research articles, narrative and systematic reviews, case reports, short communications, brief reports, and other appropriate scholarly manuscripts. Authors should ensure that the submitted work falls within the scope of the journal and complies with the applicable manuscript requirements.
Manuscripts should be prepared according to the latest IJAHS instructions and submitted through the prescribed submission process. Authors should ensure that all required files, declarations, ethical approvals, consent documents, and other supporting materials are available before submission.
Submission of a manuscript to IJAHS implies that the work is original and has not been published previously in substantially the same form. Manuscripts should not be simultaneously submitted to another journal while they are under consideration by IJAHS.
Authors should prepare the title page and blinded article file separately where required. The corresponding author should also provide the required declarations and supporting documents specified by the journal.
Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word format using clear and consistent formatting. The manuscript should be organised logically with appropriate headings and subheadings. Authors should carefully check spelling, grammar, terminology, numerical values, references, tables, and figures before submission.
The title page should include the manuscript title, short running title, names of all authors, academic qualifications, designations, institutional affiliations, total word count, number of tables and figures, funding information, acknowledgements, conflict of interest statement, trial registration details where applicable, author contribution details, and complete information for the corresponding author.
The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the editorial office and should provide the complete institutional address, email address, telephone or other contact information as requested by the journal. Where required, the corresponding author should provide a passport-size photograph and the signed copyright or author declaration form.
The blinded article file should contain the manuscript title, abstract, keywords, main manuscript text, tables, figures, and references. Author names, initials, institutional affiliations, acknowledgements, and other identifying information should be excluded from the blinded file. Manuscripts that do not meet the required blinding standards may be returned to the authors before editorial processing.
The abstract should provide a concise and accurate summary of the manuscript. For original research, the abstract should generally describe the background or purpose, methods, principal results, and conclusion. The abstract should accurately reflect the content of the full manuscript.
Authors should provide appropriate keywords that represent the main concepts of the manuscript. Keywords should be relevant to the study and selected to facilitate accurate indexing and retrieval.
Original research articles should generally include an introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusion, and references. The structure may be adapted where appropriate according to the study design and nature of the research.
The introduction should clearly describe the background, rationale, relevant evidence, and objectives or research question of the study.
The methods section should provide sufficient information to understand how the study was conducted and, where appropriate, allow reproducibility. Study design, participants, eligibility criteria, procedures, outcome measures, statistical methods, and ethical approval should be described as applicable.
Results should be presented clearly and objectively. Relevant findings should be supported by appropriate statistical analysis. Information presented in tables or figures should not be unnecessarily repeated in the main text.
The discussion should interpret the findings in relation to existing evidence, acknowledge important limitations, and explain the relevance of the results. The conclusion should provide a concise statement supported by the findings of the study.
Tables should be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals and should have concise, self-explanatory titles. Tables should contain information that is necessary for understanding the study and should not unnecessarily duplicate information presented in the text. Abbreviations and other relevant information should be explained in table footnotes.
Figures, photographs, graphs, charts, and other illustrations should be clear and appropriately numbered in the order in which they are cited. Images should be submitted in suitable digital formats with adequate resolution. Labels, symbols, numbers, and legends should be clearly visible.
IJAHS follows the Vancouver referencing style. References should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they first appear in the text. Authors should verify the accuracy and completeness of all references before submission.
Wherever available, authors should provide DOI information for cited articles. Journal names, author names, article titles, volume, issue, page numbers, and other bibliographic details should be checked carefully.
Research involving human participants, human data, animals, or other ethically sensitive material should comply with applicable ethical requirements. Details of ethics committee approval or exemption should be provided where applicable.
Appropriate informed consent should be obtained where required. For case reports, photographs, identifiable information, or other potentially identifiable material, authors should ensure that the necessary consent has been obtained before submission.
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the work. All listed authors should approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission.
Authors should disclose relevant financial, professional, personal, or other relationships that could influence the work. All sources of financial or material support should also be disclosed.
Submitted manuscripts must be original and must not contain plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated data, falsified results, or other forms of research misconduct. Manuscripts may undergo plagiarism or originality screening as part of the editorial process.
Authors who use artificial intelligence or AI-assisted tools during manuscript preparation should disclose such use where applicable. AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and final content of the manuscript, including material generated or modified using AI-assisted tools.
Submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their suitability for the journal in terms of scope, format, originality, ethical requirements, and overall submission compliance.
Manuscripts considered suitable for further evaluation may undergo peer review in accordance with the journal's review process. Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts in response to editorial or reviewer comments.
IJAHS provides open access to its published articles to support the accessibility and dissemination of scholarly research.

Authors are responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and completeness of their submitted manuscript. Authors should obtain all necessary permissions, ethical approvals, informed consents, declarations, and supporting documents before submission. Submission of a manuscript indicates that the authors have reviewed and agree to comply with the applicable IJAHS editorial and publication policies.
Before submitting a manuscript, authors should confirm that the latest IJAHS format has been followed, the title page and blinded manuscript have been prepared where required, all authors have approved the manuscript, ethical and consent requirements have been addressed, references have been checked, tables and figures are appropriately prepared, conflicts and funding have been disclosed, and all required declarations and supporting documents are included.
Following acceptance, authors may be requested to provide the final required documents, copyright or author declaration forms, and supporting data or files as applicable. Authors should carefully review the galley proof and communicate any necessary corrections within the period specified by the editorial office.
